Emma Peale Garvin,
Rescue Bloodhound K2
SARS Search and Rescue Team
Emma is trained in Mantrailing and has been serving the community providing search services since 2000.  Born in Maury County, Tennessee in 1999, Emma was in a litter of 13 puppies owned by a Tennessee SAR Dog Handler.  The handler brought the litter to a CSAR Seminar held in Maury County during that Spring, which was attended by the Garvins, hoping to get lucky and find a search dog handler that was seeking a puppy to adopt.  The rest is history. She started training at only 4 months old and was "raised" by Atalanta, following her around the backyard sniffing anything she came across.  In 2000, she went "in service" and began handling real search emergencies. Emma's most memorable trail was of an elderly Alzheimer's patient who boarded a SEPTA bus in Abington Township.  Emma trailed the scent that had emanated from the moving the bus for several miles resulting in a "safe-and-sound" location of the missing person.    Emma is also used for Police-requested tracks of a criminal nature and is our "expert" on tracks on pavement.
