Some of our former, retired units...

Old 353-1

This "K&S Mini-mod" served our Elkins Park station for many years. It was assigned to "Project 10-B", a joint venture with Willow Grove Fire Company until it was retired in 1999.

Old 353-8

This unit has been refurbished and is now known as "Special Service 353" and is used to tow the rescue boat and carry the water rescue equipment.

Old 353-7

This unit, 353-7 was out first 4x4 ambulance. It was retired in 2001 after a serious accident.

Old 353-5

This unit was the last "K&S" that was ever built (the company was sold) 353-5 served at our Weldon station, and the Willow Grove station until it was retired in 1999.

"The Light Truck" (Formerly called 353-8)

This was our first large unit, "The Light Truck" which was dedicated to provided compressed tool air, breathing air, power and light to the region's fire companies during night fires. This unit retired in 1986 and was sold to Ogden-New Hanover Rescue Squad of South Carolina.

Old Rescue 353-6

This, smaller Rescue Unit held the formerly used "353-6" designation for a rescue truck. This unit normally operated in tandem with "The Light Truck" on larger vehicle rescues.

Old Chief's car

A Dodge Diplomat, retired in 1995 after serving a few years as a spare, utility vehicle bearing the Id "353-83"

Old 353-82

This medic responder was actually refurbished from one of our older units, a utility truck, and served as an ALS "Chase Car" unit for many years until it was retired.

Old 353-84

This Chevy Suburban pre-dated the current Van, "Utility 353". It was retired in the late 1980's.

The old Utility 353

Retired in November 2005 and donated to Jenkintown Fire Police and is still actively serving the Fire Police as "Traffic 16"

The Canteen

This Converted 1947 Flexible Flyer Bus served until 1995 when it was finally retired. This unit held the radio ID "353-85"

"The D.A."

The Disaster Action unit, a 1946 Flexible Flyer Bus, was equipped for mass casualties and major incidents. This unit was retired in the late 1970's. We made several attemps to return it to service, but 1946 Flexible parts proved too expensive and difficult to find.
